Been off work sick, and need a doctor’s note to return to work? We’d be happy to help.
Usually, if you are off work for a week or less you will not need to provide evidence that you have been sick, but your employer will require a ‘fit note’ (sometimes called a ‘sick note’) from either a hospital doctor or London GP if you’ve been off sick for more than 7 days in a row (including non-working days such as weekends and holidays).

Fit/ sick notes and their duration are issued at the discretion of the doctor. The duration of the fit note will be determined by our doctor’s view on when you will be likely to have recovered, or their judgement about an appropriate time to review your fitness for work again, even if you will not have fully recovered.
