Wound Management
The Doctors Clinic Group has a team of highly qualified nurses who are experienced in dealing with a range of medical conditions including wound management – A wound is defined as a break in the skin.
A 30 minute wound care appointment is £45
What to expect at your appointment:
Our nurses provide a confidential and safe environment for you to freely discuss any health concerns and can assess, manage and advise on the following aspects of wound care:
- Dressing changes
- Stitch removal
- Abscesses/cysts: post-drainage procedures
- Burns
- Cosmetic wounds
- Post operative wounds
- Lacerations/cuts due to trauma
- Ulcers
NB: Please note, if you are currently receiving treatment, follow-up care or advice regarding your wound, please bring all relevant information, dressings or discharge notes etc. to your appointment.
Please seek emergency medical advice if your wound:
- Has not stopped bleeding
- Has debris in it or an object embedded
- Is very large or deep
- Is affecting an artery or joint crease
- Is sore, red and/or painful, or if there is any pus seeping out of it
- Is a previous wound that now seems to be becoming infected
- Was caused by a bite from an animal or human
